A popular brand of alprazolam (Xanax) in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia is Ksalol, which is marketed by generic drug manufacturer Galenika. Strong benzodiazepines like ksalol are frequently prescribed to treat insomnia, panic disorders, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Long-term use of alprazolam can be very addictive, which raises serious concerns about addiction and abuse.
The most often prescribed psychiatric drug is alprazolam. Seventy percent of teenagers who are addicted to Ksalol obtain the drug from the medicine cabinet in their home.
